Happy To Be Home Again !!!

Saturday July 6, 2013 Day 71...

Scotty returned home yesterday around 6:30. Whoever thought it would take so long to be discharged from a hospital! Anyway shortly after they arrived the oxygen tanks arrive from the company that provides oxygen care. Scotty is on oxygen full time. He has a bunch of tubing and is able to move freely all over the house. They brought 2 portable tanks for outside and travel. He also has one in case the power would go out in the house. Bobby and I went over last night and helped them get settled and assisted Scotty up the stairs for bed. He did really good going up the stairs after having a very long and tiring day. When we left he was comfortable in bed and was going to sleep. I stopped back by this morning and he looked very rested. Much better than he looked last night. He said he slept well and he had made his way to the kitchen table for breakfast. I was able to find him some sponge pops he can use at night to help with dry mouth. The doctor has told him he may not drink or eat anything in a lying position and suggested the sponge pops for nighttime if he wakes up. His goal today was to get a much needed shower and to develop a routine of being up a while and then resting. He has to take naps in between to make himself stronger and he needs to prop his legs up to prevent swelling. Hopefully he can be comfortable in the recliner. Scotty will return to the medical oncologist on Wednesday and lets pray there will be positive news.

Noah was having a better morning. Last night was a bit too much for him and very scary seeing his dad with the oxygen on and all the tanks around the house. Not to mention the noise the machine makes. He actually came in and gave Scotty a hug first thing this morning which is a big step for him. We hope the rest of the day will be good.

Please continue to pray for Scotty , Deborah , and  Noah during this difficult time. Please pray for healing for all of them.
